Job Description
Join ArborCo Australia’s dedicated team in Mount Gambier as an experienced Arborist. This role is primarily focused on tree climbing and requires a strong commitment to safety protocols and best practices in arboriculture. You will be responsible for a variety of tree care operations, working at heights and utilizing specialized equipment to maintain the health and safety of trees in our diverse client portfolio. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about trees, skilled in climbing techniques, and possess an unwavering dedication to workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced tree climbing operations for pruning, removal, and rigging.
- Operate chainsaws, wood chippers, stump grinders, and other arboricultural equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct thorough tree assessments to identify health issues, structural defects, and potential hazards.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Maintain equipment, ensuring it is in safe working order and reporting any defects.
- Collaborate effectively with team members on job sites to achieve project goals.
- Provide exceptional customer service and represent ArborCo Australia professionally.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a climbing arborist.
- Certificate III in Arboriculture (or equivalent qualification).
- Demonstrated proficiency in advanced tree climbing techniques and rigging.
- Current Chainsaw Competency (e.g., AHCMOM213 Operate and maintain chainsaws).
- Strong understanding of tree biology, pest/disease identification, and pruning standards.
- Valid Australian Driver's License (Manual).
- Commitment to safe work practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) license.
- Traffic Management qualifications.
- Crane Operator (Dogging/Rigging) license.
- Experience with large tree removals and complex rigging.
