Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled RF Engineer to join our dynamic team in Norwich. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, optimization, and performance analysis of radio frequency networks. This role involves working with cutting-edge wireless technologies to ensure high-quality service and coverage for our customers. You will play a crucial part in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of our wireless infrastructure, contributing directly to BT Group’s mission of connecting people and businesses across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, and optimize RF networks for optimal performance and coverage.
  • Conduct site surveys, evaluate propagation models, and perform drive testing.
  • Analyze network performance data and identify areas for improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex RF issues, ensuring network stability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network operations, planning, and deployment.
  • Develop and implement RF engineering standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Evaluate new technologies and solutions for network enhancement.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation for all RF activities.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in RF planning, design, and optimization for cellular networks (4G/5G).
  • Proficiency with RF planning tools (e.g., Atoll, Planet, iBwave).
  • Strong understanding of wireless communication principles, protocols, and standards.
  • Experience with network performance monitoring tools and drive test analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Experience with specific vendor equipment (e.g., Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei).
  • Knowledge of emerging wireless technologies such as IoT, massive MIMO, or small cells.
  • Professional certifications in RF engineering or related fields.
