Job Description
We are seeking reliable and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Night Shift Driver for a part-time roster in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of packages and freight during overnight hours. This position offers flexible scheduling, making it ideal for those looking to supplement their income or work around other commitments. Full training will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in your duties, even if you are new to professional driving roles. We prioritize safety, efficiency, and excellent service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (vans or trucks) for package delivery and pickup during night shifts.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any maintenance issues.
- Load and unload packages efficiently and carefully, utilizing appropriate equipment.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and team members regarding route status or issues.
- Represent FedEx professionally to customers and the public.
Required Skills
- Valid Class C Driver's License (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Comfortable working independently during night hours.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to protocols.
- Ability to read maps and follow GPS directions accurately.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in delivery or transportation is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with the Portland metropolitan area.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
