Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cardiac Nurse to join our dedicated cardiology team in Swansea. In this crucial role, you will provide specialist nursing care to patients with various cardiac conditions, both pre- and post-procedure. You will work within a fast-paced environment, requiring exceptional clinical skills, compassion, and a commitment to patient safety and well-being. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care to cardiac patients.
  • Monitor and assess patients' conditions, interpreting vital signs and ECGs.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately, including intravenous therapies.
  • Educate patients and their families on cardiac health, treatment plans, and recovery.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and relevant clinical guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Registered Nurse (RN) qualification with current NMC registration.
  • Demonstrable experience in a cardiac care environment (e.g., CCU, Cardiology Ward).
  • Proficiency in ECG interpretation and rhythm analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
  • Specialist qualification or course in Cardiac Nursing.
  • Experience with cardiac catheterization or interventional cardiology procedures.
