Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and physically capable individual to join our team as a Scrap Wood & Drywall Remover. This role is crucial to our demolition and renovation projects, involving the efficient and safe removal of various materials from construction sites. You will be responsible for preparing sites for subsequent work, ensuring a clean and safe environment, and contributing to the overall progress of our projects. Full training on demolition safety and material handling will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely remove scrap wood, drywall, and other debris from active construction and demolition sites.
- Sort and separate materials for recycling or proper disposal according to site procedures.
- Load and unload materials into skips, containers, or designated areas, often involving heavy lifting.
- Assist with basic demolition preparation tasks as directed by site supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Operate basic hand tools and power tools under supervision, if required.
- Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially those related to safety and environmental standards.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including repetitive lifting, bending, and carrying.
- Strong work ethic and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to showing up ready to work.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic awareness of health and safety practices in a construction environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to different site conditions and tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role or general labour.
- CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) or willingness to obtain one.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Basic knowledge of construction site operations.
