Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Green Star Associate to join our growing Sustainability team in Barton, ACT. This entry-level professional role is perfect for someone passionate about sustainable building practices and eager to contribute to significant environmental projects. You will support senior consultants in the delivery of Green Star certifications and other sustainability initiatives for a variety of clients across the public and private sectors. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise in green building rating tools and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic consulting environment. Full training and mentorship will be provided to ensure your success and growth within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and submission of Green Star documentation for various projects.
  • Conduct research on sustainable design strategies, materials, and technologies.
  • Collect and analyze data related to building performance and sustainability metrics.
  • Support the project team in client meetings and workshops.
  • Contribute to the development of sustainability reports and presentations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Green Star rating tool requirements and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Required Skills

  • Understanding of sustainability principles and environmental issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop expertise in green building certification tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Architecture, Sustainable Development, or a related field.
  • Some prior exposure or coursework related to Green Star or other building rating tools (e.g., LEED, BREEAM).
  • Internship or volunteer experience in a sustainability-related role.
  • Green Star Associate qualification or a willingness to obtain it within the first 6-12 months.
