Job Description

Are you an ambitious IT student looking to gain practical, hands-on experience in a supportive and dynamic environment? Deloitte Australia is offering a fantastic paid internship opportunity for an IT Student to join our support team in Mandurah. This role is designed to provide you with a foundational understanding of IT operations, helpdesk support, and technical problem-solving. You will work closely with experienced professionals, contributing to real-world projects and helping ensure smooth technology operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving common IT problems, escalating complex issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
  • Help with the setup, configuration, and deployment of new hardware and software.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT incidents, requests, and resolutions using our ticketing system.
  • Contribute to the creation and updating of IT documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles.
  • Assist with routine IT maintenance tasks, including system updates and basic network checks.
  • Support IT asset management, including tracking inventory and equipment allocation.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or Diploma program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS), and common software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong passion for technology and a keen interest in IT support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) tools or ticketing systems.
  • Basic knowledge of network concepts (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi).
  • Experience with remote desktop tools.
  • Participation in IT-related projects or extracurricular activities.
  • Previous customer service experience (not necessarily IT-related).
