Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and licensed Security Monitoring Dispatcher to join our night shift team in Footscray, VIC. This critical role involves monitoring alarm systems, CCTV footage, and other security feeds, assessing situations, and efficiently dispatching response units or emergency services as required. You will be the first point of contact for security incidents during the night, demanding sharp attention to detail, calm under pressure, and excellent communication skills. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor multiple security alarm systems, CCTV cameras, and access control platforms.
- Respond promptly and effectively to all alarm activations and security events.
- Verify incidents and assess their nature and severity.
- Dispatch security guards, police, fire, or ambulance services according to established protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all incidents, actions taken, and communications.
- Provide clear and concise communication to responding units and clients.
- Operate various communication systems including radios, phones, and email.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Complete incident reports thoroughly and accurately.
Required Skills
- Current and valid Victorian Security Licence (Control Room Operator endorsement preferred).
- Proven experience in a control room, dispatch, or similar security monitoring role (1+ years preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and security software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team during night shifts.
- High level of attention to detail and observational skills.
- Clear police check and ability to obtain relevant security clearances.
- Reliable transportation for night shift work.
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous experience with specific security monitoring software (e.g., Bold Technologies, SBN).
- Experience in a fast-paced environment or emergency services dispatch.
- Tertiary qualification in security, criminology, or a related field.
