Job Description
We are seeking a vigilant and professional Security Marshall to join our team on a part-time night roster in Cairns. This role is crucial in maintaining a secure environment for our clients’ premises, assets, and personnel during evening and overnight hours. You will be responsible for patrolling, monitoring surveillance equipment, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance with security protocols. The ideal candidate will possess excellent observational skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to work independently and as part of a professional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas, both on foot and via vehicle, to deter and detect security breaches.
- Monitor CCTV systems and alarms, responding promptly to any suspicious activity or alerts.
- Control access points, verifying credentials, and managing visitor entry and exit procedures.
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents, observations, and daily activities.
- Enforce company policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Respond to emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, and security threats, coordinating with emergency services as required.
- Provide excellent customer service and assistance to clients, staff, and visitors while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Conduct safety inspections and report any hazards or maintenance issues.
- Perform opening and closing procedures for facilities as needed.
Required Skills
- Current Security Licence (Class 1AC or equivalent in QLD)
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to operate security equipment and technology effectively
- Strong observational and problem-solving abilities
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills under pressure
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence and reliable transport
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a security role, particularly on night shifts
- Experience with security reporting software
- Certificate II or III in Security Operations
- Experience in customer service or public-facing roles
