Job Description
Are you ready to kickstart your career in retail? Target in LaSalle, IL, is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Cashier & Front End Associates. No prior experience is required – we believe in providing comprehensive training to help you succeed! This is an immediate opening for individuals eager to learn, provide excellent customer service, and be an integral part of our store operations. You will be the face of Target, ensuring a smooth and friendly checkout experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate cash registers and handle various payment methods accurately and efficiently
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting guests warmly and assisting with inquiries
- Scan merchandise, bag items, and ensure proper handling of all products
- Maintain a clean, organized, and friendly checkout area
- Assist guests with returns, exchanges, and price adjustments as needed
- Promote Target's loyalty programs and special offers to guests
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure a positive shopping environment
Required Skills
- Ability to provide excellent customer service with a positive and friendly attitude
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members
- Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions and making change
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds (with or without reasonable accommodation)
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (or currently pursuing)
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., volunteer work, school activities, informal roles)
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems is a plus, but not required
