Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and dependable Commercial Cleaner to join our team for part-time evening shifts in Courtenay, BC. This role offers an immediate start for individuals who are detail-oriented, possess a strong work ethic, and are committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. As a Commercial Cleaner, you will be responsible for ensuring the pristine condition of various commercial properties. Full training will be provided to the right candidate, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to start or advance their career in facility services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and replenishing supplies.
- Empty and dispose of trash and recycling from all receptacles.
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas, hallways, and office spaces.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor and maintain adequate stock of cleaning supplies; report needs to supervisor.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and security policies and procedures.
- Report any damage or maintenance issues observed during shifts.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and a thorough approach to tasks.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Good physical stamina, capable of standing, bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs), and moving throughout shifts.
- Effective communication skills.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
- Successful completion of a criminal record check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment operation.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
