State Farm is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Trainee Vehicle Damage Estimator in our Bowie auto insurance office. No prior experience in vehicle damage estimation or auto insurance is required! We are looking for motivated individuals eager to learn the fundamentals of assessing vehicle damage, preparing accurate repair estimates, and providing exceptional service to our valued customers. You will receive comprehensive, hands-on training to develop all the necessary skills to become a successful estimator. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity to build a solid foundation in a stable and growing field.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all provided training programs to learn vehicle damage assessment techniques.
- Shadow experienced estimators in the field and office to understand workflows and best practices.
- Learn to accurately inspect damaged vehicles and identify repair needs.
- Learn to utilize proprietary software and industry tools to prepare detailed repair estimates.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding the estimation process and their claims.
- Assist senior estimators with administrative tasks and data entry as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort with learning new software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
