Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cardiac Catheterization Lab Nurse to join our highly skilled team. The Cath Lab Nurse provides direct patient care during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization procedures, including diagnostic and interventional cases.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, EKG, and hemodynamic status throughout procedures.
- Administer medications as prescribed and manage IV access.
- Educate patients and families on procedures, post-procedure care, and recovery.
- Prepare the Cath Lab with necessary equipment and ensure sterility.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and timely in electronic health records.
- Respond to emergencies and provide advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) when needed.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Cath Lab equipment and procedures.
Required Skills
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington D.C. or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, preferably in Critical Care, Emergency Department, or Telemetry.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Previous experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
- Certified Cardiovascular Nurse (CVN) or other relevant certifications.
- Experience with various cardiac imaging modalities and interventional devices.
