Job Description

SaskPower is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Trainee Procurement Assistant (Public Sector). This is an exceptional entry-level opportunity for someone eager to start a career in procurement, specifically within the public sector. We provide comprehensive, full training, so no prior experience in procurement is required. You will learn the intricacies of public sector purchasing, supply chain management, and contract administration, supporting our procurement specialists in ensuring efficient and compliant acquisition of goods and services for critical provincial infrastructure projects and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in a structured training program to understand public sector procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Assist procurement specialists with administrative tasks, including data entry, file management, and document preparation.
  • Support the creation and distribution of procurement-related documentation, such as purchase orders, requests for proposals (RFPs), and contracts.
  • Help maintain accurate supplier records and procurement databases.
  • Communicate professionally with internal stakeholders and external vendors under supervision.
  • Learn to review and process invoices and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings and coordinating various procurement activities.
