Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Equipment Delivery & Setup Driver to join our team in College Station, TX. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery, setup, and instruction of various home medical equipment, with a particular focus on installing hospital beds. You will serve as a crucial link between our company and our patients, providing essential support and ensuring they understand how to use their equipment properly. Full training will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in all aspects of equipment setup and patient interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver medical equipment, including hospital beds, oxygen concentrators, and other home care devices, to patient homes or facilities.
- Install, set up, and test medical equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and patient needs.
- Provide clear, concise, and empathetic instructions to patients and caregivers on the proper use, care, and safety of their medical equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and minor troubleshooting on equipment as needed.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery tickets, patient consents, and service logs, accurately and legibly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked company vehicle.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and HIPAA guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and other team members regarding delivery schedules and patient needs.
Required Skills
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy medical equipment (up to 75 lbs regularly).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-first approach.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment setup and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in delivery, logistics, or a customer service role.
- Familiarity with medical terminology or home healthcare equipment.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
