Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and vigilant Security Guard to join our team in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and company assets. This role requires an individual with excellent observational skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to respond effectively to security incidents. You will be a vital part of our security operations, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, equipment, and access points.
- Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocols before the arrival of authorities.
- Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities.
- Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
- Act lawfully in direct defense of life or property.
- Write reports on daily activities and important incidents.
- Operate security gate or supervise entrances and exits, verifying credentials when necessary.
- Administer first aid or CPR in emergency situations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a security guard or relevant position.
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Door Supervisor or Security Guarding license.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Physically fit and able to stand/walk for long periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience with CCTV monitoring and alarm systems.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing security role.
