As a Porter/Orderly, you will play a crucial role in the daily functioning of our hospital. Your primary responsibilities will include safely transporting patients throughout the facility, moving essential equipment, and supporting our medical staff to ensure a clean and organized environment. Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients via wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds between various departments (e.g., wards, operating rooms, diagnostic areas) in a timely and compassionate manner.
- Assist patients with transfers, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
- Move medical equipment, supplies, and laboratory specimens within the hospital.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient transport equipment.
- Respond promptly to requests from nursing staff and other departments.
- Provide general support to medical staff as needed, contributing to a smooth workflow.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control and patient safety protocols.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not strictly required for motivated candidates.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and staff.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift, push, pull, and stand for extended periods.
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor, with a commitment to patient comfort and safety.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- No prior experience required; full on-the-job training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
