Job Description
North Dakota State University is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Seasonal Tennis Court Maintenance Worker to join our groundskeeping team. This position is responsible for ensuring our tennis courts and surrounding grounds are kept in pristine condition for student-athletes, faculty, staff, and community members. This is a seasonal role, ideal for individuals looking for outdoor work during the warmer months, contributing to the vibrant campus environment. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent entry-level opportunity for those passionate about outdoor work and sports facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of outdoor and indoor tennis courts, including sweeping, blowing debris, and net adjustments.
- Repair minor surface imperfections on courts and surrounding areas.
- Maintain and clean court equipment such as nets, posts, and benches.
- Assist with general groundskeeping duties around tennis court facilities, including lawn mowing, trimming, and weeding.
- Monitor court conditions and report any major damage or hazards to supervisors.
- Operate various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and university policies.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of groundskeeping principles (full training provided).
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or athletic facility maintenance is a plus.
- Familiarity with tennis court specific maintenance techniques.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
