Job Description
Are you looking for an easy, rewarding summer job in the beautiful Oxnard area? Oxnard City Parks & Recreation is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Swimming Pool Water Testers / Monitors. This entry-level position is perfect for students or anyone looking for seasonal work. No prior experience is required – we provide full training! Your primary role will be to ensure the safety and cleanliness of our public swimming pools by regularly testing water quality and monitoring pool conditions. This is a crucial role that helps us maintain a fun and healthy environment for our community to enjoy throughout the summer.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect water samples from designated public swimming pools at scheduled intervals.
- Perform basic chemical tests on water samples (e.g., pH, chlorine, alkalinity) using provided equipment.
- Accurately record and document all test results and observations in logbooks or digital systems.
- Monitor pool areas for general cleanliness and safety hazards.
- Report any significant deviations in water quality or safety concerns immediately to supervisors.
- Ensure testing equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and departmental guidelines.
- Provide a friendly and professional presence at our facilities.
