Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Prawn Farm Labourers to join our dedicated team in Lakes Entrance. This full-time role involves a variety of hands-on tasks essential to the successful operation of our prawn farming facilities. You will be working outdoors in a coastal environment, contributing directly to the growth and harvest of our premium prawns. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy physical work, are eager to learn, and wish to be part of a vital agricultural industry. Full training will be provided, making it an ideal role for those new to the aquaculture sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the daily feeding and monitoring of prawn ponds.
  • Cleaning and maintaining pond infrastructure, tanks, and equipment.
  • Participating in the harvesting, grading, and packing of prawns.
  • Performing general farm maintenance and repairs as directed.
  • Operating basic farm machinery and tools safely (training provided).
  • Adhering to strict hygiene and biosecurity protocols.
  • Working effectively as part of a team to achieve production targets.
  • Reporting any unusual observations or issues to supervisors promptly.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physical labour, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety principles.
  • Must have legal right to work in Australia.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in farming, aquaculture, or a similar outdoor labour role (though not essential as full training is provided).
  • Current driver's license and reliable transport.
  • First Aid certification.
