Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Solar Farm Groundskeeper to join our team in Saskatoon. This is a full-time, permanent position involving outdoor work to maintain the grounds of our solar energy facility. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal functioning and aesthetic appeal of the solar farm by keeping the area clean, tidy, and free from obstructions. This position requires a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently in various weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform regular mowing, trimming, and weeding around solar panels and facility perimeter.
  • Operate various groundskeeping equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor and report any damage, hazards, or maintenance needs on the solar farm property.
  • Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks as required, such as fence mending or debris removal.
  • Ensure clear access to solar panels and equipment by managing vegetation overgrowth.
  • Assist with general site clean-up, waste removal, and maintaining overall site presentation.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and clean tools and equipment regularly.

Required Skills

  • Physical stamina and ability to perform demanding outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to operate basic landscaping and groundskeeping equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to site maintenance.
  • Understanding of basic safety protocols for outdoor work and equipment operation.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving abstract.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or agricultural settings.
  • Knowledge of plant care and basic horticulture.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Experience operating tractors or specialized farm equipment.
