Job Description
Join the dynamic team at Argos’s state-of-the-art distribution center in Stoke-on-Trent as an Order Picker. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately selecting and preparing customer orders for dispatch. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment, contributing directly to our mission of delivering excellent service and a wide range of products to homes across the UK. We are looking for motivated individuals with a strong work ethic and attention to detail. Full training on our systems and equipment will be provided to ensure your success.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick products from warehouse locations according to order sheets or scanner instructions.
- Operate manual and powered equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, order pickers) safely and efficiently after training.
- Verify product numbers and quantities to ensure accuracy of each order.
- Pack items securely for shipment, ensuring products are protected during transit.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory checks and stock replenishment as required.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily productivity targets.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and interpret order sheets and product labels.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and carry items for extended periods.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Commitment to health and safety procedures.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or retail environment.
- Experience operating warehouse equipment (e.g., pump trucks, MHE).
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- A positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
