Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated IT Support Intern (Level 1) to join our dynamic technology team on the Gold Coast. This hands-on internship offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain practical experience in a corporate IT environment. You will work closely with experienced IT professionals, providing essential technical support to our employees, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and contributing to the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. This role is designed for individuals eager to learn and develop foundational IT skills through direct application and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, and in-person, resolving or escalating issues as necessary.
- Assist with the setup, configuration, and deployment of new hardware (laptops, desktops, mobile devices) and software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic network connectivity issues, printer problems, and application errors.
- Document support interactions, resolutions, and common issues in the ticketing system.
- Participate in IT asset management, including inventory tracking and equipment refresh cycles.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized IT workspace and server room.
- Learn and adhere to company IT policies, security protocols, and best practices.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for technology and a desire to learn about IT systems.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and software components.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
- Proven problem-solving aptitude and ability to follow instructions.
- Enrolled in or recently completed a degree/diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, Wi-Fi).
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow) is a plus.
- Any relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, IT Fundamentals).
- Prior experience with personal computer repair or troubleshooting as a hobby.
