Job Description
We are seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our team in Mackay as Casual Trade Assistants. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking for day work with the convenience of weekly pay. No prior experience in a trade assistant role is required, as we are committed to providing comprehensive on-the-job training to the right candidates. You will be supporting skilled tradespeople across various industrial or construction projects, learning valuable skills and contributing to a dynamic work environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople (e.g., electricians, mechanics, fitters) with their tasks.
- Prepare work areas, materials, and tools as directed.
- Perform general labouring duties, including manual handling, lifting, and carrying.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering strictly to all safety procedures.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision, if competent.
- Transport equipment and materials around the worksite.
- Follow instructions diligently and work effectively as part of a team.
- Undertake general site clean-up and housekeeping duties.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety (or willingness to learn).
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current White Card (Construction Induction Card).
- Valid Australian Driver's License and reliable transport.
- Previous experience in a similar industrial or construction environment (highly regarded but not essential).
- First Aid Certificate.
