Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-service-focused individual to join our front-of-house team as a Hotel Porter / Bellhop. In this dynamic role, you will be a key point of contact for our guests, ensuring their stay is seamless from arrival to departure. Your main responsibilities will involve assisting guests with luggage, providing information about our hotel services and local attractions, and upholding the high standards of guest care that Rydges is known for. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet guests upon arrival and departure, assisting with luggage handling and transportation to and from their rooms.
- Provide detailed information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions, offering personalized recommendations and directions.
- Assist guests with special requests, such as calling taxis, arranging tours, or delivering amenities to their rooms.
- Maintain the cleanliness, orderliness, and welcoming ambiance of the hotel lobby and entrance area.
- Monitor and control access to guest areas, ensuring security and privacy for all hotel occupants.
- Support the front desk and other hotel departments with various tasks as needed to enhance the overall guest experience.
- Handle guest inquiries and resolve minor issues promptly and courteously, escalating complex matters to management when necessary.
Required Skills
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift and carry luggage (up to 20kg) and stand for extended periods.
- A proactive and attentive approach to anticipating guest needs.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cohesive team.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Legal right to work in Australia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role within the hospitality industry (e.g., retail, food service).
- Basic knowledge of the Dubbo area, its attractions, and local transport options.
- A valid Australian driver's license.
- Current First Aid certification.
