Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our cutting-edge research team in Nottingham. This pivotal role involves contributing to advanced research projects aimed at developing novel therapeutic strategies. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing and executing experiments, analyzing complex data, and publishing findings in high-impact journals. Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute complex in vitro and in vivo experiments to test research hypotheses.
- Develop and validate new experimental methodologies and assays.
- Perform advanced data analysis, interpretation, and visualization using statistical software.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all experiments and results in laboratory notebooks.
- Prepare research findings for presentation at internal meetings and external scientific conferences.
- Contribute to the drafting and submission of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including biologists, chemists, and computational scientists.
- Supervise and mentor junior research staff or students as required.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and ethical guidelines.
Required Skills
- PhD in a relevant life science discipline (e.g., Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Immunology, Neuroscience).
- Demonstrated expertise in molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, Western Blot, qPCR, cloning).
- Proficiency in cell culture techniques, including primary cell isolation and maintenance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in statistical analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proven track record of scientific publication or strong research output during PhD.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced imaging techniques (e.g., confocal microscopy, live-cell imaging).
- Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and analysis of large datasets (e.g., RNA-seq, proteomics).
- Previous experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry setting.
- Experience with in vivo models and experimental design.
- Knowledge of drug discovery and development processes.
