Job Description
As a Leasehand, you will be an integral part of our drilling and exploration team, assisting in the safe and efficient operation of drilling rigs and associated equipment. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals looking to start a career in the energy sector, offering comprehensive on-the-job training and opportunities for advancement within our field operations. You will support various aspects of drilling operations, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist drillers and other crew members with all aspects of drilling operations.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of drilling equipment and the rig site.
- Handle and rack drill pipe, casing, and other materials safely.
- Operate small machinery and power tools as required.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in pre-job safety meetings and hazard assessments.
- Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to supervisors immediately.
Required Skills
- Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to protocols.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Basic mechanical aptitude is a plus.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in physically demanding roles or outdoor work.
- First Aid certificate.
- Basic rig safety training (e.g., White Card).
