Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Remote Public Policy Researcher to join our dynamic team. This full-time position offers flexible hours, allowing you to manage your work-life balance effectively while contributing to impactful policy research. As a Public Policy Researcher, you will play a crucial role in analyzing complex policy issues, conducting extensive research, and developing evidence-based recommendations that influence public discourse and decision-making. This role is 100% remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the United States, with a preference for candidates residing in the Central time zone.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive qualitative and quantitative research on a variety of public policy issues.
- Analyze policy proposals, legislation, and government programs to identify impacts and effectiveness.
- Prepare detailed reports, briefs, and presentations summarizing research findings and policy recommendations.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments at federal, state, and local levels.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders on research projects.
- Utilize data analysis tools and methodologies to support research objectives.
- Contribute to the development of thought leadership content and publications.
- Participate in virtual team meetings and professional development activities.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in policy research and analysis.
- Strong understanding of research methodologies, both qualitative and quantitative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Sociology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in a relevant discipline.
- Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, Stata) or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
- Familiarity with government structures and legislative processes.
- Previous experience in a consulting firm, think tank, or government agency.
