Job Description
Are you a passionate and energetic barista looking for a rewarding part-time role in a bustling cafe environment? The Coffee Club in Cairns is seeking a dedicated Barista to join our friendly team, specializing in early morning shifts and weekend service. If you thrive on providing exceptional customer service, crafting perfect coffees, and enjoy the vibrancy of a morning rush, we want to hear from you! This role offers consistent part-time hours with attractive weekend penalty rates.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide variety of coffee beverages, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other cafe equipment.
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Process payments and handle cash with precision.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar and surrounding areas.
- Contribute to a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all customers.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Assist with other cafe duties as required, including light food prep or table service.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Barista (at least 6 months).
- Exceptional coffee-making skills, including latte art.
- Strong customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability and punctuality for early morning shifts.
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays.
- Basic math skills for cash handling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Food Safety Certificate (e.g., QLD Food Handler Certificate).
- Experience with a POS system.
- Enthusiasm for learning new coffee techniques and menu items.
