Job Description
We are seeking a highly creative and technically proficient Product Developer to join our Consumer Electronics team in Byron Bay. In this role, you will be instrumental in bringing innovative new products from concept to launch. You will work closely with design, engineering, marketing, and manufacturing teams to define product specifications, develop prototypes, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, market-leading consumer electronic devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle from ideation to mass production.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new product opportunities and features.
- Translate product requirements into detailed technical specifications and design briefs.
- Collaborate with industrial designers and engineers on product architecture, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
- Manage prototyping, testing, and validation activities to ensure product performance and reliability.
- Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to optimize production processes and quality control.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring adherence to project goals.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in the consumer electronics market.
Required Skills
- 3-5 years of experience in product development for consumer electronics.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360).
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) principles.
- Experience with various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, CNC machining, PCB assembly).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Experience with agile development methodologies.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards for consumer electronics (e.g., CE, FCC, RCM).
- Previous experience with audio, video, or smart home device development.
