Job Description
We are seeking reliable and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Seafood Process Worker at our state-of-the-art facility in Esperance. This entry-level position offers comprehensive training, making it ideal for those eager to learn new skills in a dynamic and essential production environment. You will be an integral part of our processing operations, ensuring the quality and efficiency of our seafood production from catch to customer. We value teamwork, meticulous attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to food safety and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle and process various types of seafood (e.g., gutting, filleting, skinning, portioning, weighing).
- Operate and maintain processing equipment safely and efficiently, following all operational guidelines.
- Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and quality control standards and procedures (HACCP).
- Sort, grade, and package seafood products accurately according to company and customer specifications.
- Assist with general cleaning, sanitization, and maintenance of the processing plant and equipment daily.
- Work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team to meet daily production targets and schedules.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall plant operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding, cool, and wet production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move up to 20kg repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Excellent reliability and punctuality, understanding the importance of consistent attendance.
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions diligently.
- Basic understanding of hygiene principles and personal cleanliness.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a food handling or production environment is advantageous but not essential.
- Current Food Handler's Certificate or ability to obtain one.
- Understanding of HACCP principles or other food safety management systems.
- Forklift license (for internal movement tasks).
