Job Description
Join the Kroger team as a Greengrocer Assistant for early morning market shifts! This role is perfect for early risers who have a passion for fresh produce and enjoy ensuring a vibrant and well-stocked shopping environment. You will be instrumental in preparing our produce department for daily operations, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation, and assisting customers with their needs. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent entry-level opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and organize daily deliveries of fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Stock and replenish produce displays, ensuring items are fresh, visually appealing, and properly rotated.
- Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the produce department, including shelves, storage areas, and equipment.
- Assist customers with inquiries, provide recommendations, and offer excellent service.
- Monitor product quality and freshness, removing damaged or expired items.
- Operate scales and other basic equipment as needed, following safety guidelines.
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and store operational procedures.
Required Skills
- Ability to work early morning shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- No prior experience required; willing to train motivated individuals.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a retail, grocery, or customer service setting is a plus.
