Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Screen Printer to join our dynamic team in Mount Barker. This full-time position requires a professional with a proven track record in both textile and sign screen printing. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining screen printing equipment, ensuring high-quality output, and managing production schedules efficiently. You will work on a variety of projects, from custom apparel to large-format signage, contributing to our reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual and automatic screen printing presses for textile and rigid substrates.
- Mix and match ink colors accurately according to specifications.
- Prepare screens, including emulsion coating, exposing, and reclaiming.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on screen printing equipment.
- Ensure quality control throughout the printing process, checking for color accuracy, registration, and overall print quality.
- Manage and prioritize print jobs to meet production deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with design and production teams to achieve desired outcomes.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in screen printing (textile and rigid substrates).
- Proficiency in operating manual and automatic screen printing equipment.
- Strong understanding of screen preparation, ink mixing, and color matching.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal qualification in screen printing or a related field.
- Experience with various ink types (plastisol, water-based, UV).
- Knowledge of graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) for basic file preparation.
- Forklift license (preferred but not essential).
