Job Description
Are you passionate about traditional animation and eager to kickstart your career in the industry? Jam Filled Entertainment is excited to offer an entry-level 2D Traditional Animation Intern position at our Ottawa studio. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with little to no professional experience who possess a strong desire to learn and grow within a fast-paced, professional animation environment. As an Intern, you will work alongside experienced animators, gaining hands-on experience and a comprehensive understanding of the 2D traditional animation pipeline. We are committed to providing robust training and mentorship to help you develop your skills and build a solid foundation in animation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior animators with in-betweening, clean-up, and basic character movement under supervision.
- Learn and apply fundamental principles of 2D traditional animation, including timing, spacing, and squash & stretch.
- Become proficient in industry-standard animation software and tools.
- Participate in daily reviews and receive constructive feedback to refine your work.
- Contribute to the creative process by offering fresh ideas and perspectives.
- Organize and maintain animation assets and files according to studio standards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members across various departments.
- Attend workshops and training sessions to enhance technical and artistic skills.
Required Skills
- A strong passion for 2D traditional animation and storytelling.
- Basic understanding of drawing fundamentals and artistic principles.
- Eagerness and ability to learn new software, techniques, and workflows quickly.

- A personal portfolio showcasing drawing abilities, character designs, or short animation tests (even if unfinished).
