Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and passionate Content Editor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and consistency of our published works. This position involves working closely with authors, editorial staff, and production teams to bring manuscripts from their raw form to polished, publishable texts. If you have a keen eye for detail, a strong command of language, and a love for literature, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit and proofread manuscripts for grammar, punctuation, spelling, style, and factual accuracy according to house style guidelines.
  • Provide constructive feedback to authors and collaborate on revisions to improve clarity, flow, and impact.
  • Fact-check content to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Work closely with designers and production teams to prepare manuscripts for print and digital formats.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to strict deadlines and quality standards.
  • Maintain and update house style guides.
  • Contribute to editorial meetings and brainstorming sessions.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Proven ability to edit and proofread complex texts with precision and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with authors and team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and familiarity with tracked changes features.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Creative Writing, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a publishing house or a content-intensive environment.
  • Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style or other widely used style guides.
  • Experience with content management systems or digital publishing tools.
