Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our finance team in Southport. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with foundational experience in accounting practices looking to develop their career within a dynamic and global organization. You will be instrumental in supporting the daily financial operations, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely processing. The role offers a hybrid work model, blending office presence with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and assist with month-end close procedures.
  • Manage expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects and administrative tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and internal departments regarding financial inquiries.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounts assistant or similar financial role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AAT qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting standards.
