Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Alumni Relations & University Giving Intern to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in higher education advancement, specifically within alumni engagement and fundraising. The intern will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the Foundation, contributing to projects that enhance alumni connections, and assisting in the cultivation of philanthropic support. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about education, community building, and non-profit work, eager to learn and grow within a supportive university environment. Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the planning, promotion, and execution of alumni events, both on-campus and virtually.
  • Support the creation and distribution of alumni communications, including newsletters, emails, and social media content.
  • Conduct research on alumni profiles and potential donors to identify engagement and giving opportunities.
  • Help maintain and update the alumni database, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Provide administrative support to the Alumni Relations and University Giving teams.
  • Assist with donor stewardship activities, including acknowledgement letters and impact reports.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions for new initiatives.
  • Handle inquiries from alumni and supporters, providing excellent customer service.

Required Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • A genuine interest in higher education, alumni relations, or fundraising.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Bachelor's degree program, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous volunteer experience or involvement in campus organisations.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems or database management (training will be provided).
  • Basic understanding of social media platforms for professional use.
