Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Audiologist to join our dynamic team in Coquitlam, British Columbia. As an Audiologist at Connect Hearing Canada, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing hearing loss, fitting hearing aids, and providing ongoing support to our diverse patient base. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive audiological evaluations, including pure tone audiometry, speech audiometry, immittance, and otoacoustic emission testing.
- Interpret audiological test results to diagnose the type and degree of hearing loss.
- Counsel patients and their families on hearing loss, communication strategies, and amplification options.
- Select, fit, and program a variety of hearing aid devices and assistive listening technologies.
- Provide ongoing patient care, including device adjustments, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with professional and company standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Stay current with advancements in audiology and hearing aid technology through continuing education.
- Participate in community outreach and educational initiatives related to hearing health.
Required Skills
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Audiology from an accredited program
- Eligibility for registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia (CSHBC) or ability to obtain it (support provided for international applicants)
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency with audiological equipment and software
- Commitment to patient-centered care
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as an Audiologist
- Experience with various hearing aid manufacturers and fitting protocols
- Multilingual abilities, especially French or other languages common in the Coquitlam area
- Experience with diverse patient populations, including pediatric and geriatric care
- Knowledge of Canadian healthcare regulations and practices (support provided for international applicants to adapt)
