Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and vigilant Baggage Inspectors to join our team, working on behalf of a federal agency at an airport location in Niagara Falls, NY. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for meticulously screening passenger baggage and cargo for prohibited items, explosives, and other threats, ensuring the safety and security of air travel. Comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with all necessary skills and certifications to excel in this specialized field. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to national security and maintain the integrity of our transportation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate advanced screening equipment (X-ray machines, trace detection systems) to inspect baggage and cargo.
- Conduct thorough physical searches of bags when necessary, following strict protocols and procedures.
- Identify and report prohibited items, suspicious articles, and potential threats to supervisory personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and incidents.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with passengers and colleagues.
- Adhere to all federal regulations, agency policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to stay current with security protocols.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary federal security clearances

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Physical capability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods
