Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cabinet Maker / Carpenter to join our dynamic team in Maidstone. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated craftsperson to contribute to bespoke projects, working with premium materials and advanced techniques. The successful candidate will be instrumental in manufacturing, assembling, and installing custom cabinets and various joinery items, ensuring the highest standards of quality and precision are met from initial concept to final installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to accurately cut, shape, and assemble timber and board materials.
- Operate a variety of woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and proficiently.
- Construct, assemble, and finish custom cabinets, furniture, and architectural joinery components.
- Perform quality checks on all manufactured items to ensure adherence to design specifications and company standards.
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other team members to ensure project timelines and client expectations are met.
- Prepare materials for finishing, including sanding, sealing, and minor repairs.
- Install bespoke cabinetry and joinery on-site with precision and minimal disruption.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Cabinet Maker or Carpenter, particularly in bespoke or high-end joinery.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Expertise in operating a wide range of woodworking machinery (e.g., panel saws, spindle moulders, planers, thicknessers) and hand tools.
- Strong understanding of different timber types, their properties, and best practices for their use.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced workshop environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Strong communication skills.
- Eligibility for a Skilled Worker Visa (sponsorship provided for successful candidates).
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Bench Joinery, Cabinet Making, or Carpentry.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for woodworking.
- First Aid certification.
- Full UK driving license (or equivalent international license).
- Previous experience in on-site installation of bespoke joinery.
