Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Change Manager to join our transformation team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading and managing the people-side of change for key strategic initiatives across Yorkshire Building Society. This involves creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and minimize resistance, ensuring that benefits are realized and sustainable change is achieved. You will work closely with project teams, sponsors, and stakeholders at all levels to facilitate a smooth transition through periods of significant change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive change management strategies and plans (e.g., communication, sponsor roadmap, coaching, training, resistance management).
  • Identify, analyze, and prepare risk mitigation tactics related to change initiatives.
  • Identify and manage anticipated resistance and develop corrective actions.
  • Create actionable deliverables for the five change management levers: communications plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, resistance management plan.
  • Support the design, development, delivery, and management of communications.
  • Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness, and identify key stakeholders.
  • Integrate change management activities into project plans.
  • Evaluate and ensure user readiness.
  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress.
  • Support organizational design and definition of new roles and responsibilities.
  • Coordinate with project managers and other teams to ensure alignment and integrated delivery.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Change Manager or similar role in a complex organizational environment (minimum 4 years).
  • Solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process.
  • Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts.
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
  • Problem-solving and root cause identification skills.
  • Strong analytic and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • Change management certification (e.g., Prosci, ACMP).
  • Experience in the financial services sector, particularly in mutual organizations.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of digital transformation projects.
