Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic City Recreation Center Supervisor to oversee the daily operations and programming of one of our key recreation centers in Louisville. This role involves supervising staff, developing and implementing diverse recreational activities, ensuring facility safety and cleanliness, and engaging with the community to meet their recreational needs. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a passion for community service and a commitment to providing exceptional recreational experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and evaluate recreation center staff, including part-time employees and volunteers.
- Plan, organize, and implement a wide range of recreational programs and activities for all age groups.
- Manage the recreation center's schedule, facility usage, and equipment inventory.
- Ensure the safety, cleanliness, and proper maintenance of the recreation center and surrounding grounds.
- Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Communicate effectively with community members, partners, and other city departments.
- Handle participant registrations, inquiries, and conflict resolution.
- Enforce park and recreation policies and procedures.
- Prepare regular reports on facility usage, program participation, and operational metrics.
Required Skills
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
- Strong organizational and program management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of recreational program development and implementation.
- Basic understanding of facility operations and maintenance.
- Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Sports Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
- Experience with recreation management software (e.g., ActiveNet, RecTrac).
- Valid Kentucky driver's license.
