Job Description
Join ABM Industries as a Commercial Kitchen Hood Cleaner for our night shift operations in Jacksonville, FL. This is a crucial role responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of commercial kitchen exhaust systems. We offer premium pay for night shift work, acknowledging the dedication and hard work our team members put in during off-peak hours. You will be an essential part of our team, maintaining high standards of hygiene and compliance for our diverse client base. Full training will be provided to ensure you are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in this specialized field.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely disassemble, clean, and reassemble kitchen exhaust hoods, filters, plenums, ducts, and fans using specialized tools and cleaning agents.
- Operate pressure washers, scrapers, and other heavy-duty cleaning equipment.
- Ensure all work is completed according to safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., NFPA 96).
- Protect kitchen equipment and surrounding areas from cleaning chemicals and debris.
- Transport equipment and waste materials to and from job sites.
- Document work performed, including before and after photos, and complete necessary reports.
- Communicate effectively with team members and site managers regarding job status and any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and equipment.
Required Skills
- Ability to work consistently during night hours (typically 9 PM – 6 AM).
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Comfortable working in high places and confined spaces.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for disassembling and reassembling components.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physical labor role, commercial cleaning, or maintenance.
- Familiarity with safety protocols for working with chemicals and machinery.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
