Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Corporate Cafeteria Cashier to join our team in the River North district of Chicago. This is a full-time position offering a consistent Monday to Friday schedule with no night shifts, providing an excellent work-life balance. As a Cashier, you will be an essential part of our food service operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient dining experience for our employees. We are looking for an individual with strong customer service skills and a commitment to accuracy in handling transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate cash register and process various payment methods accurately.
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting all diners with a friendly demeanor.
- Maintain a clean and organized cashier station and dining area.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions, ensuring correct change and reconciliation.
- Assist with restocking beverages and other items as needed.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management regarding inventory and service needs.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve minor issues politely and efficiently.
- Support the overall cafeteria operations to ensure a pleasant dining experience.
Required Skills
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cashier, especially in a food service environment.
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
