Job Description
Are you passionate about craft beer and creating a welcoming atmosphere? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and friendly Craft Beer / Bottle Shop Advisor to join our team for evening shifts in Dartmouth. In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert for customers seeking advice on our extensive selection of craft beers, ciders, and other unique beverages. You’ll help curate an enjoyable shopping experience, share your product knowledge, and ensure our bottle shop maintains its friendly vibe. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves connecting with people and has a genuine interest in the craft beverage scene.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting customers with product selection and recommendations, with a special focus on craft beer.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of our craft beer inventory, new arrivals, and industry trends.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems, handle cash and credit transactions accurately.
- Assist with stock replenishment, merchandising, and ensuring shelves are well-organized and visually appealing.
- Support inventory management by assisting with receiving, checking, and rotating stock.
- Ensure the store environment is clean, safe, and inviting for all customers.
- Adhere to all provincial regulations regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages, including age verification.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and maintain a positive team atmosphere.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a customer service or retail environment.
- Demonstrated interest in craft beer, wine, or spirits.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work evening shifts and weekends.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle transactions accurately.
- Must be 19 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a liquor store or specialty food/beverage retail.
- Formal training or certifications in beer knowledge (e.g., Cicerone Beer Server).
- Experience with merchandising and visual display.
- Ability to speak French is an asset.
