Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Curriculum Developer / Designer to join our team in Airdrie, Alberta. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and revising engaging and effective educational content and learning experiences across various subjects and platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and multimedia specialists to ensure the highest quality and pedagogical soundness of our educational offerings. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop comprehensive curriculum materials, lesson plans, learning objectives, and assessment strategies.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather content requirements and ensure accuracy.
- Apply instructional design principles to create engaging, interactive, and effective learning experiences.
- Review, edit, and revise existing curriculum content based on feedback, performance data, and evolving educational standards.
- Ensure all developed materials comply with accessibility standards and company guidelines.
- Integrate multimedia elements and innovative technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
- Participate in pilot programs and gather feedback for continuous improvement of curriculum.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables effectively to meet deadlines.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in curriculum development or instructional design.
- Strong understanding of adult learning theories and pedagogical best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in educational content authoring tools and learning management systems (LMS).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field.
- Experience with digital learning platforms and e-learning content creation.
- Familiarity with Canadian educational standards and curriculum frameworks.
- Experience in developing curriculum for diverse learner populations.
