Job Description
As a Data Analytics Lead at Merck, you will be instrumental in driving data-driven decision-making across various critical functions. This position requires a seasoned professional who can lead complex analytical projects, mentor junior analysts, and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced data analytics solutions to support business objectives.

- Ensure the highest standards of data quality, integrity, and governance across all analytical initiatives and platforms.
- Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in the field of data analytics and data science.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data analytics, data science, or a closely related quantitative field.
- Proven proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation, along with strong command of at least one programming language (Python or R) for data analysis.
- Extensive experience with leading business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik Sense) for dashboard creation and reporting.
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and fundamental machine learning concepts.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical reasoning, and critical thinking abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including experience in team mentorship and project management.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex data insights to non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, or Computer Science.
- Previous experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or broader healthcare industry.
- Familiarity with big data technologies and frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL databases).
- Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) for data storage, processing, and analytics.
- Relevant project management certification (e.g., PMP, CSM).
