Job Description

We are seeking a highly organised and empathetic Dermatology Clinic Assistant to join our fast-paced specialist care team in Gravesend. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our dermatology clinic, providing vital support to our dermatologists and nurses, and delivering an outstanding experience for our patients. You will be at the heart of our clinic, managing patient flow, preparing treatment rooms, and assisting with administrative tasks to maintain our high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and manage their arrival and departure processes, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, managing clinic diaries effectively to optimize efficiency.
  • Prepare consultation and treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available and sterilised where required.
  • Assist dermatologists and nurses during patient consultations and minor procedures, under direct supervision, maintaining patient comfort and safety.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, both digital and physical, adhering to data protection guidelines.
  • Handle patient inquiries, provide information, and address concerns in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Manage clinic inventory, ordering supplies and ensuring stock levels are maintained.
  • Process patient payments and manage billing inquiries.
  • Ensure the clinic environment is clean, tidy, and compliant with health and safety regulations.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-first approach.
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite, electronic health records systems).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a medical or clinical setting, particularly in dermatology or a specialist clinic.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

  • First Aid certification.
