Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and energetic Drywall Mud Mixing Assistant to join our dynamic team in Brandon, Manitoba. This role is crucial for ensuring our drywall installers have the necessary materials prepared efficiently and consistently. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, highly organized, and thrive in a fast-paced construction environment. You will be responsible for precise mud mixing, material handling, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace, directly supporting our experienced drywall crews to keep projects on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately mix various types of drywall mud to specific consistencies according to project requirements and manufacturer specifications.
  • Transport mixed mud, drywall sheets, and other materials to installers on various levels and locations within the job site.
  • Assist installers with basic tasks such as fetching tools, holding materials, or setting up work areas.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including cleaning tools, mixing equipment, and disposal of waste materials.
  • Monitor inventory of mud, tape, and related supplies, reporting needs to the site supervisor.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and construction site regulations.
  • Perform other labor-intensive tasks as required to support the drywall team.

Required Skills

  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials repeatedly (up to 50 lbs).
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a construction labor or assistant role (6+ months).
  • Familiarity with various drywall materials and tools.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Forklift certification is an asset.
