Job Description
Are you passionate about early childhood education and looking to kickstart your career? Goodstart Early Learning is offering an exciting opportunity for an Early Childhood Intern to gain valuable practical placement hours at our Gold Coast centre. This internship is designed for students currently enrolled in an Early Childhood qualification who require hands-on experience to fulfil their course requirements. You will work alongside experienced educators, learning best practices in a supportive and vibrant environment, making a real difference in children’s lives. No prior experience is required; we are looking for enthusiastic individuals eager to learn and grow within the early childhood sector. Full training and mentorship will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead educators in daily routines and activities within the learning environment.
- Observe and engage with children, supporting their play-based learning and development.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and engaging environment for children.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to centre discussions.
- Learn about and adhere to Goodstart Early Learning's policies and procedures, including child protection and safety.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members.
- Complete practical placement requirements as outlined by your educational institution.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a recognised Early Childhood Education and Care qualification (e.g., Certificate III, Diploma, Bachelor).
- A genuine passion for working with young children and their families.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn, with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
- Commitment to child safety and wellbeing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior volunteer experience with children (not essential but beneficial).
- Basic understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
